Pyro won by a landslide so the TF Team promised that the next major balance update would go to the Pyro, with the next major update after that going to the Heavy, and that more would follow. Seriously, you can say what you want about the TF Team taking so long because they're working so hard to make good on their promises and deliver a pristine, bug-free update, but I have been playing TF2 since 2011, and that hasn't been their track record so far. I honestly think that the TF Team promised major balance updates to the Pyro, Heavy, and beyond prematurely under the belief that Meet Your Match would breath new life into the game and possibly make it into a viable e-Sport, and perhaps that the TF Team would attract some new hands from other departments, but since none of that happened and the TF Team lacks the necessary resources to make good on their promises, they have chosen to bide their time as long as possible in hopes that by the time they release The Jungle Update, fans will be so happy to receive any update at all that they'll complain less about the update's failure to deliver, and relying on apologists to play spin-doctor on their behalf, which they obviously will. Typically speaking, the TF Team does one major balance update per year somewhere between June and August, so folks were expecting the Pyro Balance Update to land by now, which not only did it not, but so far the TF Team hasn't even acknowledged the Pyro at all.įrankly, I don't think that the next update (which the TF Team is calling "The Jungle Update") is the Pyro Balance Update, especially since no mention of the Pyro has been made while other possible balance tweaks have been listed by the TF Team for other classes.
